This course is designed for those individuals working in an environment which supports the delivery of a food service and those wishing to have an awareness of food hygiene. It is a good foundation for those joining and working in the industry at a basic level.

At this level it is suited to those performing in low risk roles for e.g. Serving food, clearing tables, maintaining food storage and deliveries of meals.

The Basic Food Hygiene training will cover:

  • Introduction to food safety
  • Hazards (microbiological, physical, chemical & allergens)
  • Hygiene controls
  • Cleaning & Disinfection
  • Handling and safe storage of food
  • Pest awareness
  • Food Safety Law

The course will conclude with a short multiple question assessment paper.
